Some weeks ago I had the pleasure of visiting a very nice part of the UK, The lake district (the area north of Manchester). Although I expected heavy showers and cold wind, the district greeted us with a warm spring and an abundance of wild flowers (coming from Belgium, we were still in winter modus). We stayed around the lovely Eltermere Lake (which is next to Windermere - The lake of Beatrix Potter and her rabbit, Peter, for the fans). If I have to mention one unforgettable moment, I would chose going over the magnificent Hardknott pass (which was not even our destination for that day, it was Ravenglass). The scenery was almost an exact copy of one of the 'Lord of the Rings' scenes (or perhaps the original?).
In short, Lake district completely surprised me, and I hope that the photos speak for themselves! Enjoy!
